yet again, i am trying to win another shirt design contest..
introducing the "Sarimanok".. A Philippine mythical bird often depicted with fishes on its beaks and claws. a bird with unmatched beauty and cloaked with feathers of every color. also worshiped as a deity by ancient filipino tribes. it is named after the daughter of a sultan, Sari, who the bird took by itself as his bride in a form of a handsome sultan.. also called "Harimanok" by some folks from the word "hari" which means king and "manok" which is chicken/cock.. can also be associated with a mystical bird named "Adarna" from a literary novel by Fransico Baltazar.. can also be compared to the legendary firebird "phoenix"..
color info:
the colors correspond to the colors of the philippine flag red for courage and blue for peace. yellow is the color of the sun and three stars.. white is suppoosed to be included but the design look better on gray shirt..

[link]the symbols are read "sa-de-ma-no" based on "baybayin" an ancient filipino way of writing.
edit: changed it and used vector style instead.. aaand also followed the 5-color rule.. not really a fan of vector style design but it was fun. woohoo. good thing i'm from the east coast and i'm 3 hours early..
